I don't know how and I don't know why, but some poor soul thought it a good idea to book everyone's least favorite garagepunk party band, thee Knee Jerks, at the swanky Columbia Museum of Art's suds'n'fun event, Arts & Draughts!

Get there early, get beer in yer belly, and we'll get down...we hit the stage anything but sober at 7pm sharp and as an added prize we finally get to share a stage with local rock'n'soul stompers, Debbie & the Skanks!

Also I'd be an idiot if I failed to mention it's my last show as the jackwagon lead singer of thee 'Jerks...so there's that to look forward to! Instead of sheddin' a tear, come get yer shakes with us Friday, y'all maroons...and as always: squares beware, baby!!!

Looks like we got another Jerk-packed weekender comin' up quick like:

the Knee Jerks have the honor of opening up the Dexter Romweber Duo (and I'm a complete spazz fer this musical hero of mine) along side those local los Perdidos boys (and their mighty fine brand of instro-action)...it's all shakin' at club Conundrum this Saturday nite...

 

And to close out the weekend on a wild note, thee Knee Jerks ratchet up the racket with our buds in the Wage Slaves...all to set the stage fer the masked mayhem that is Daikaiju...come sweat out of every pore at the outdoor Foxfield stage Sunday, baby...and the squares said it couldn't be done!

Once Again Car-free & Care-free, baby...

Late breaking news from last weekend: an interstate wreck steals our only wheels, so I'm back on solely my heels, baby (don't worry, everybody magically survived with nary a bump, though sadly the same can't be said of the automobile)...once again livin' the life I sing about in my songs and can proudly say "car-free and care-free"!

Oh and least I forget, thee Knee Jerks will be bringin' a bus-load of outta control cray-zay once more to the adorin' Art Bar...we open up the party flood gates at eight so don't be late...after us are three bands, includin' the cool Capital City Playboys long awaited stage return of their brand of rockabilly burn...as always get hip and come give us a sip!

Then in quick order hitch it over to the finest dive in all of West Cola, where we'll be appearin' again live but this time in-person even, at New Brookland Tavern...we'll be twitchin' & twistin' along with T.C. Thee Knee Jerks, Dreiberg — Take members from the likes of the Get Wets, Gravitron and Sons of Young, and you’re bound to come up with some kind of party. In local terms, thee Knee Jerks take the garage-punk throne just vacated by the now-defunct Unawares and inject some humor and hubris. Dreiberg also include an ex-Sons of Young member in drummer Brett Wider, but Rich Owensby’s songs hew to a more conventional alt-rock style. With Release the Dog and Lost Wages. — Kevin Oliver
